Aruba - An Enchanting Island

Aruba's landscape can best be described as dramatic with boulder and caves scattered in the arid environs of the island. In contrast the brilliant colors of Bougainvillea, oleanders, flamboyant hibiscus and other tropical plants add the touch of the exotic to the island. Crystal blue waters and pristine sandy beaches complete the image of Aruba as an enchanting island destination. Aruba's annual Carnival attracts visitors and performers from all around the world, who come to enjoy the pre-Lent Festivities. An overseas territory of the Netherlands, Aruba's people are versatile and friendly, welcoming all visitors with traditional greetings. Casinos, gourmet restaurants and lively nightclubs ensure that a night out on the town is never wasted. Aruba's long history as a Dutch colony has also resulted in interesting museums that highlight Aruban colonial life, as well as towers and ruins of forts left behind from another time
